I am guilty of always being on some type of electronic device! I left my phone in my car on accident tonight at the gym. When I realized that I had left it I instantly felt anxious. I didn't want to miss a phone call or a text! I fought the urge to go get it and worked out without my music. As time goes by, more and more of my students have cell phones and I find myself becoming more accepting of students having them on them and using them when they run to listen to music. As a teacher, one needs to adapt to the generational changes and this is "always on" is definitely one of them. I wish I could say that this generation isn't going to be dependent on their mobile device, but they will be. We need to make sure that we know how to use this to our benefit.
