Facebook is more for connecting with friends and family, and in the case of my fan page, connect with students. LinkedIn is for more of a business based networking site. If I had to choose a site to keep, I would keep LinkedIn over Facebook. LinkedIn provides the opportunity to connect with peers. It also allows one to see job opportunities in ones field. The only con of LinkedIn is that in Bakersfield, it is not that popular of an app yet. Last year I was in San Francisco and it seemed like everyone I met there had LinkedIn. Instead of asking each other if we had Facebook, It was "Do you have LinkedIn?". Hopefully LinkedIn will catch on soon in Bakersfield.
